CIP has invested in printing technology that can print graphics on finished boxes. You can now add advertising and marketing information to your boxes at a very reasonable cost, with
no print plate or set-up costs. We have yet to determine specific per-box pricing, but anticipate a flat rate for quantities up to 25, 50, 100, etc. The machine runs 60 boxes/minute, so running several thousand is no issue. It has a stacker and conveyer, so we’ll re-bundle as they come off the machine.
What colors can I have printed?
Black. Just like Henry Ford’s first car, you can have any color you want as long as it is black!
How large can my print area be?
Up to 11” wide (tall) and up to 32” long (total length to print two panels).
What size boxes can be printed?
Maximum flat case size: 32” wide (tall) by 32” long (combined length of first two panels.
Minimum flat case size: 10” wide (tall) by 12” long.
What kind of print quality can I expect?
A 200 dpi print provides a crisp, clear image with guaranteed readable bar codes. The thermal imaging system can stencil intricate patterns or artwork and a huge variety of fonts and sizes.
How long does printing take?
With stock boxes, you can expect a 2-3 day turnaround. With custom boxes, a 2-4 day turnaround is normal.

Mark Jenkins is owner of MBS Mountain Boards in Colorado Springs. Their primary business is high-tech off-road skateboards, but they also pursue other action sports. They recently bought a graphics system for number plates on motocross bikes, promotional displays, etc, and asked us if we could provide a surfboard shape out of V11C. They ordered about 30 of them for a winery promoting their products. We’ve discovered a market for doing these in relatively small quantities in V11C, as wood displays are expensive, have high minimums, and lead times usually run about 8-12 weeks.
At Colorado Industrial we can turn these around in less than a week. We have a router, so we can set these up on our table and knock them out in a hurry. With the vinyl graphics, the V11C board is rigid and able to take abuse, but is very lightweight and easy to work with.
We are exploring developing this market in partnership with MBS. They have the art and creative skills, and we have the tooling. Between the two of us, we anticipate growing this niche market-space for small companies looking for a strong visual impact in an inexpensive package.
